Iron deficiency anemia is one of the most common nutritional problems. Adolescent girls with anemia who do not receive the appropriate intervention will be at risk in the future. Therefore, adolescent girls must receive promotive, preventive and curative measures to increase their knowledge and awareness of anemia and promote consuming blood supplement tablets that reduce the risk of iron deficiency anemia. This research aims to determine the effect of anemia education using web media on knowledge, attitudes, iron intake, and compliance with consuming blood supplement tablets in adolescent girls who have symptoms of anemia.
This research was a quasi-experimental design, with a research design pre and post-test control group design. A research sample of 27 people was purposive sampling who had symptoms of anemia over the last 3 months. Data collection uses questionnaires and cards of compliance for iron supplement tablet consumption. The data analysis used in this research is the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Paired Sample T-Test, Mann-Whitney U, and Independent T-Test.
This research concludes that web-based anemia education can improve knowledge and attitudes towards anemia among adolescent girls but has not been able to increase iron intake and compliance with iron supplement tablet consumption. In addition, there are significant differences in knowledge and attitudes between female students receiving web-based media and those receiving leaflet-based education. It is necessary to carry out web-based anemia education or digital media regularly and continuously to increase female students' knowledge and attitudes towards anemia as a preventive measure against the risk of anemia.
