Obesity is a condition of excess fat in adipose tissue which can be a risk to health. Being overweight, poor metabolic profile during adolescence, will result in the emergence of chronic diseases in the future. In the lives of students, the majority already use social media with quite high usage intensity, watching content has an influence on the choice of high-calorie and high-sugar types of food, students in the group who are exposed to quite a high level of habitual behavior choose types of food that tend to be unhealthy. Individuals who see content that approaches eating choices and unhealthy lifestyles have the opportunity to influence the type of food they will consume and their daily lifestyle. Individuals who consider eating unhealthy types of food to be normal will influence the occurrence of cases. obesity, and vice versa. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of educational social media content related to nutrition on food selection decisions in preventing the incidence of obesity in students, to be able to describe the method. This research uses a cross-sectional design involving students at Airlangga University. Data on social media usage was obtained using an intensity scale, duration scale, as well as classification of followers or non-followers from nutritional education content creators which were filled in through a questionnaire. Data on preferences for selecting types of food was obtained through a questionnaire distributed to Airlangga University students. The data was analyzed using chi-square. Data obtained using primary data.
