Introduction: Anemia is a problem related to nutrition and often occurs in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia has increased in the last 5 years and the majority occurs in adolescent girls. Nutrition education that is interesting and appropriate for young people is needed, one of which is using Instagram media. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of education via the Instagram platform to increase knowledge, compliance with iron supplement consumption and nutritional intake in young women.
Method: This research uses a type of experimental research using a case and control group design that receives different treatment. The case group received nutritional intervention through the social media Instagram, while the control group received nutritional intervention through printed leaflets. The research sample was randomly selected from young women in one of the secondary schools in the city of Surabaya. Data was collected directly by filling out a questionnaire and analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS software.
Result and
Conclusion: Nutrition education via Instagram influences the level of knowledge and compliance with taking iron tablets. However, this did not affect the food intake of young women. Increased knowledge will encourage changes in adolescent behavior, in this case related to compliance with iron supplement consumption and preventing anemia.
