Paper Abstract: he world has been facing multidimensional crises in multiple places such as Ukraine, the Middle East, parts of Africa, and many others. More than that, the contemporary global crisis has become a complex and interconnected challenge that includes environmental, health, economic, and geopolitical domains. This highlights the need for urgent and comprehensive actions. For that reason, building common grounds and better understanding among nations is vital. This paper is a report on an ongoing project to contextualize wayang storytelling into South African context which has been supported the Wayang Committee, a non-formal organization established in 2020 and supported by members from Universitas Airlangga, Durban University of Technology, Bern University and Rajen Reddy Foundation. In the first stage of the proposed activity was developing contextualized characters following Indonesia's Wayang Kulit tradition. The proposed activity in the 2nd year consists of establishing the common grounds, developing the curriculum, producing the materials, developing the online platform for the course, and establishing the administration and management system. The short and medium-term goal is to help promote an inclusive society in South Africa. The long-term goal is to foster fertile grounds for inter-nations story telling to promote inclusive and peaceful society.
