Paper Abstract: Despite being the only country in Southeast Asia not colonized during Western imperialism, we can see the significant impact of it through the US war on Vietnam, which played a massive role in its commercialization and creation of a global image of Thailand as a "Sex Paradise". In many other factors, Ayutthaya Kingdom and Theravada Buddhism also contributed to the lower social status of women in Thai society. Though Prostitution is officially illegal today, why Sex trade still thriving in Thailand? On the other hand, why does the Thai state seem reluctant to resolve the issue of Statelessness? So, this paper is focused on the Stateless children involved in the Sex Trade and their precarious situation. How has COVID-19 affected these children? What are the economic and social factors working behind the massive demand for children in Sex Trade? There is an ongoing demand for the decriminalization of the sex trade in Thailand, so what will be its possible effect on these stateless children? Through these questions, I hypothesize that despite being a Political issue, the Thai government shrugs off Statelessness owing to its economic benefits.
