Activity or Workshop Details: This walking tour workshop would begin by exploring the green space of Bungkul Park to take note of plants and urban architecture. With guidance from a researcher and artist, each participant would use both photography and a variety of mixed media materials to capture a moment of familiar things, reminiscent of one's home. By noticing these similarities, we might consider ways that our perspective could be interpreted in visual form, in a still image and on paper. In a sense, the photographic collection and notebook sketches created on location would make up new stories of place in time, and might act as a vehicle for understanding our positionality and perception in our surroundings. The United Nations allocated Bungkul Park the Asian Townscape Award in 2013, acknowledging the balance between maintaining a green garden space and a center for street food. To celebrate the end of the workshop, there would be an Eat & Draw gathering, with a pop-up exhibition to showcase the photography and sketches produced during the session.
