In this panel, we are going to present four different cases from three indigenous communities in Taiwan, including the Bunun in the mountainous area and the Amis on the coastal area. All papers are connected to the questions of conservation in-situ and the transmission of Indigenous bio-cultural knowledge of their environment. Different authors provide experiences from their profound involvement in the field sites, whether it is traditional crop revival activities, edible wild plants knowledge or the fishery connected with the ocean resources conservation. The differences among knowledge systems, gender bias and institutions make more difficulties in these cases. While in each case, researchers, with a reflexive perspective, all tend to have possible intervention and involvement in these movements with the concern of conservation for the communities and preservation of bio-cultural knowledge. We try to find out how the articulation of different technoscapes, and how the institutional interventions among the traditional social organizations, modern school education, new NGO institutions can take some role in these actions. Furthermore, we explore also how collaboration among anthropologists, sociologists, agriculturalists, botanists, marine experts can be applied to the grounds. Similar with other indigenous societies in the world, these cases have brought together the latest technology and traditional inherited wisdom in coping with the new challenges from climate catalyst and loss of people's rich knowledge of the natural environment.
