1. Uneven Geographies, Ecologies, Technologies and Human Futures
Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has the longest volcanic arc in the world. One of the volcanoes that is still active in Indonesia is Mount Semeru. Mount Semeru is famous for its frequent eruptions and is considered one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia.
Restoration efforts of natural resources and the environment after a volcanic eruption are critical to promoting ecological recovery, ensuring the well-being of local communities, protecting biodiversity, and encouraging sustainable land management practices. Solid waste management is part of the natural resource and environmental management program. The aim of the activity is increasing the capacity and resilience of communities affected by disasters, maintaining a healthy environment through managing natural resources and the environment, and increase cooperation with all parties in efforts to restore natural resources and the environment and support the sustainability of activities.
The National Disaster Management Agency in collaboration with Disaster Management Master's Study Program, Postgraduate School, Airlangga University and the stakeholders will carry out assistance for recovery and increased productivity of natural resources and the environment, especially in waste management in the area affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru, namely Lumajang Regency, East Java Province.
The output is the increase of the knowledge, attitude and practice the community on waste management. It supports by the media development on the Household Waste Management Module, Video of waste management flow at integrated waste disposal site, and Biopore making video.
