Exhibition Details: Exhibition about script variants in inscriptions in West Java written from the 5th century AD to the 16th century AD. There are several types of script used from time to time. Starting from the time of the Tarumanagara Kingdom to the time of the Sunda Kingdom, it ended dramatically. Script is a form of language. Even though the written remains in West Java are very few compared to those in Central Java and East Java, the types of script used consist of almost 15 types. The dominant language used is Old Javanese, this may prove that Old Javanese was the national language at that time. Also, there is Old Sumatran script along with Old Malay. This can prove that the influence of the Srivijaya Kingdom in the northern coastal region of Pula, Western of Java, occurred. Relics of the temple's relationship with the Srivijaya Kingdom can be seen in the remains of the Batujaya Temple Complex. This research is the result of my thesis, using inscription data sources and at the end getting help from several manuscripts. Through paleographic studies, this exhibition wants to show the form of characters which are explained paleographically. The display, made from printed fabric and printed paper in acrylic, displays photos of inscriptions and the results of character tracing. Then for collaboration I want to display characters composed or calligraphed by artists.
