Ca' Foscari University, Italy
I am a medical anthropologist interested in zoonotic diseases, neglected tropical diseases, human-animal-ecosystem assemblages and One Health. I have a BA in South Asian Studies and a MA and PhD in cultural anthropology. After a post-doc grant from the Wenner Gren Foundation for anthropological research to study free-roaming animals in urban India, and a Marie Sklodowska Curie fellowship from the European Commission to carry out interdisciplinary research on dog and human rabies, I am currently leading a project on tick-borne diseases at the Department of Humanities at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, through funding from the Italian Ministry of Research. I also serve as a consultant for the Department for the Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases at the World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland.
