Presently, I am teaching in the Department of History Cotton University, Guwahati, Assam, India as an Assistant Professor from 2015 onwards. I submitted my PhD thesis at the, Center for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Supriya Varma. The broad theme of my research is the Brahmaputra Valley of Assam with particular emphasis on the pottery (5th-17th century CE). The topic of my PhD thesis is, ‘A Stylistic Analysis of Pottery from the Brahmaputra Valley (5th-17th centuries CE)’. My publications have appeared in journals such as Heritage, Kalakalpa and Indian History Congress Proceedings. I have successfully completed a Research Project entitled “ An Ethnographical Survey of Pottery Traditions from the Lower Brahmaputra Valley (Kamrup, Nalbari, Goalpara and Dhubri districts of Assam)” funded by Indian Council for Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi (2019-2021). I have been recently awarded the Ashoka Fellowship 2023 for research in the Center for Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research (CIAR).
