Nebojša Đorđević is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of
Philosophy, University of Belgrade. He completed his undergraduate studies in Tourism
Studies at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, where he was one of the top
students in his generation. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, he
conducted his professional internship in Vienna under the auspices of the Dr. Zoran Đinđić
Foundation Scholarship Program. He furthered his academic pursuits by completing his
Master studies in Cultural Studies in Central Java, Indonesia. This endeavor was
supported by a scholarship awarded by the government of the Republic of Indonesia. As a
result of this effort, he obtained the academic title of Magister Humaniora. Following a
period of several years dedicated to artistic endeavors (including notable roles at
institutions such as the National Gallery of Indonesia in Jakarta and participation in the
Venice Biennale within the Indonesian Pavilion), and his involvement with the Embassy of
the Republic of Indonesia in Belgrade, he resumed his academic pursuits. His primary
research interests lie in the relationship between Serbia and Indonesia, as well as themes
of decolonization, critical studies, and whiteness studies.
