I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. My doctoral research was on the European Companies on the eastern Indian littoral in the 17th century, with a focus on the port city of Masulipatnam in the kingdom of Golconda. My thematic specialisation is medieval Indian history. My research interests include Indian Ocean Maritime History c. 17th C.; European expansion in the Indian Ocean, Diaspora; Knowledge transmission; Pre-modern state in India, indigenous mercantile
communities & socio-economic history of South India; Urbanism; Ecology; Art.
