Imke Blume-Vidal holds a B.A. in China Studies (2019) and an M.A. in the same field (2021) from the Univerity Paris Cité. Demonstrating a deep-rooted passion for language, culture, and environmental conservation, her academic journey began with a foundation in political science, culminating in research that compared the climate discourses of Xi Jinping and Angela Merkel.
With a professional background as a civil servant at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including a posting at the German Embassy in Beijing (2008 to 2011), Imke later ventured into journalism in New Delhi (2011-2013), therewith broadening her horizons across diverse cultures and working fields.
Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Inalco in Paris, Imke's research centres on dissecting the Chinese environmental discourse during Xi Jinping's tenure. Her extensive academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to advancing our understanding of global environmental challenges.
