Chloe Paberz is a social anthropologist at the French Research Institute on East Asia and an Associate Professor at Inalco (National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations) University in Paris. Her PhD thesis analyzes the work culture of South Korean developers based on eighteen months of ethnography, and sheds light on the changes brought by information technologies and innovation culture in the Korean definition of modernity. She has also studied international networks of Korean artists and craftsmen in Europe and Japan. By questioning the ideal and material relationship between people and their work, her research aims at understanding the diversity of collective imaginaries and bodily techniques related to non-human beings.
