TUNG Wan Qing is currently a lecturer teaching media subjects at New Era University College in Malaysia. She graduated from Murdoch University in Australia with a Bachelor of Media and Communication Studies and from Lingnan University in Hong Kong with a Master of Cultural Studies. She has been actively engaged with social issues from a young age, beginning with writing short stories and commentaries, and later progressing to writing chapters and books on social history and media literacy in Malaysia.
She co-founded the Rumah Attap Library and Collective with friends in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, aiming to create a space for like-minded individuals to read, discuss, and think critically through events such as reading clubs, film screenings, and sharing sessions. She also co-founded the social enterprise In Between Cultura, which promotes the use of cloth pads and pantyliners and conducts workshops on making them, while inviting participants to share their menstruation experiences before and during the sewing process. The vision is to empower women by breaking stigmas and promoting sustainable lifestyle choices.
