Dr. Archita Banerjee is a PhD and her core area of work is Folklore. She has worked extensively on the folktales from the Bengal region of India and has also collected some folktales through field work. She engages in ethnography and at present she is doing a ritual study on the Itu Ritual of Bengal. She is also into translation and is currently translating Hindi and Bhojpuri texts. Apart from her field of study, she is interested in British Literature, Historiography, Colonial-Postcolonial Studies, Cultural Studies, Theatre Studies, and Translation. She has presented papers at national and international seminars and some of her papers are also under review and will come up shortly.
