Zsoka Gelle

Zsoka Gelle is an independent researcher born in 1967 in Szombathely, Hungary. She graduated in Oriental linguistics (Tibetan Studies) at ELTE University, Budapest. Lived for several years in India and Tibet doing research on Tibetan storytellers (Mani Lamas) and from 2011 she was a member of the Doctoral College for Cultural Transfer and Cross-Contacts on the Himalayan Borderlands at the University of Vienna. Since then her main research interest is the history and religious tradition of Hyolmo people in the Nepal Himalaya. Presently, she lives in Brighton, UK and works as an archivist.
