Seonyoung Seo is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Chungbuk National University, Korea. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Yonsei University and an M.A. in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex. Prior to starting her Ph.D., she worked for several years in migrant-serving NGOs and a migrant trade union in Korea. Her current research interests include transnational migration to and from Asia, urban space, class identity, labour geography and migrant community organisation. She has published articles 'Regulatory migration regimes and the production of spaces: the case of Nepalese workers in South Korea' (co-authored, 2017) in Geoforum and 'Temporalities of class in Nepalese labour migration to South Korea' in Current Sociology (2019).
