Atsuko TSUBAKIHARA is an associate professor at the faculty of Sociology, Ryukoku University. She specializes in cultural anthropology and she is the author of Living the Global City: An Ethnography of Iranian Diaspora (Shunpusha 2018 in Japanese) and "Tales of Wandering Rose: Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Exports and the Middle East" in Tetsuo Nishio and Yasushi Tonaga eds., 30 Doors to the Middle East and the Islamic World (Minerva Shobo 2021 in Japanese).
