I'm Junhong Ma(https://orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0000-0002-7669-7102) at the University of Alberta's Department of Anthropology. My academic roots trace back to Fudan University, where I delved into Classical Literature, particularly the Tang and Song Dynasties. Now, my doctoral journey focuses on the contemporary Asian tea industry. With my research team with Dr. Jean Debernardi, my fieldwork spans major tea hubs like Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Taiwan, enabling me to explore the convergence of tradition and modernity in today's tea rituals. In the last 9 years, my pursuit remains the same: unravelling the tales tea tells about society, tradition, and transformation.
