Danzhou Li (PhD, Chinese University of Hong Kong) is an associate professor at the Institute of Aesthetics and Art Criticism at Shenzhen University, China. Her theoretical research interests revolve around art, urban–rural development, and visual anthropology. Her work has been published in scholarly outlets including Space and Culture and International Journal of Heritage Studies, Palgrave Macmillan (2017), ISEAS (2017). She is the author of New City, New Culture: The Cultural Route of Shenzhen in the Context of Urban Renewal (2019) and The Mechanism of Urban Cultural Governance from the Perspective of ‘Creative Assemblage’ (2023). She is the guest editor for the special issue ‘Artistic Interventions in Community and Its Media Practices in a Global Context’ for Global Media and China.
