Hannah M. Y. Ho is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. She is also an Associate at the Asia Research Institute at the National University of Singapore. Her PhD was read at the Univerity of York, United Kingdom. She completed fellowships at the National University of Singapore, University of California Berkeley, and King's College London. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals, including Kritika Kultura, Asiatic, International Journal of Asia Pacific Studies, Wenshan Review of Literature and Culture, Southeast Asian Review of English and Suvannabhumi. Her book chapters are published, amongst others, by Springer, Routledge, Palgrave-Macmillan and Vernon Press. She has been awarded research grants to study representations of the Chinese in contemporary Bruneian literatures, and mental health representations in literatures produced within Malay Muslim nations. She co-edited 'Engaging Modern Brunei: Research on Language, Literature and Culture' (Springer 2021). Her forthcoming book is entitled 'Transnational Southeast Asia: Challenges, Cultures and Identities' (contract signed in 2023).
