Rani Prihatmanti is a cultural heritage researcher-cum-lecturer at the Architecture department, School of Creative Industry, Universitas Ciputra-Surabaya. She is also the Director of the Centre for Creative Heritage Studies (CCHS). She is a PhD in Interior Design candidate from School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia. In 2017-2020, she was a USM Fellowship recipient for conducting several cultural heritage research projects in Malaysia. While pursuing her PhD, Rani was also employed as a Graduate Research Assistant. During her study years, she was awarded with ‘Sanggar Sanjung Award’ by Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS)-USM as well as best paper and best presenter recipient for her outstanding publications. Her passion in preserving cultural heritage led her to be appointed as a Research Associate at Tracing Patterns Foundation, USA. Rani’s dedication to cultural heritage has made her to be one of the scholarship recipients for UNESCO Asia-Pacific Sustainable Heritage Management masterclass batch 2022. In mid 2023, she was selected as the Asian Graduate Student Fellowship recipient at Asia Research Institute – National University of Singapore. Her research interests focused on interior design and culture, adaptive reuse & heritage building, human comfort, ethnobotany, cultural food & rituals, and traditional textiles.
