Titien Diah Soelistyarini is a senior lecturer at the English Department of Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in American studies from Universitas Indonesia, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Literature from the same university. Her research interests lie in contemporary literature and American studies, with a particular emphasis on ethnic/diasporic American literature and visual narratives . Some of her works include “Dismantling the Complexity of Borders: Identity and Coming-of-Age in Nicholas Mainieri's The Infinite”, "Institutional Racism and Black Resistance as Portrayed through Images and Narratives in American Graphic Novels”, and “The World through the Eyes of an Asian American: Exploring Verbal and Visual Expressions in a Graphic Memoir”. She is currently working on her dissertation focusing on the articulation of diasporic identities and the American Dream in graphic memoirs.
