Sreedevi P Aravind

Thunchathu Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, India

Sreedevi P is an Assistant Professor in the School of Film Studies at Thunchath Ezhuthachan
Malayalam University. She has Completed her Ph.D from Calicut University on “City in
Cinema: A study of Urban Spaces in Malayalam Films, from 1950s to 1980s. She works on
regional cinema, dance choreography in Malayalam cinema, cultural studies, spectator,
cinematic space and comparative literature. She has written a book titled “Ritwik Kumar
Ghatak" and edited a book “Comparative Literature: Few Perspectives". She has directed two
documentaries and one short film which were selected for various festivals. She has directed
the signature film for the Ministry of Cultural affairs for their “Samam” programme. Her
script has been selected as one among the final three in Kerala State Women Directors Fund.
