Yen Yen Sally Rahayu, a postdoctoral fellow at Tokyo College, The University of Tokyo (Japan), earned a BSc in Chemistry from ITB (Indonesia) in 2005. After private sector research, she pursued academia and earned an MSc in Agriculture from Kagoshima University (Japan) in 2014. In 2021, she completed her PhD in Global Agricultural Sciences and an interdisciplinary Social Design and Management program at The University of Tokyo.
Her research focuses on (re)valuing biodiversity in today's society. She explored the biodiversity of Indonesian medicinal plants within intercultural health practices and wild edible fruits in Bhutan. Currently, she is working on a project to mainstream the sustainable use of wild edible plant biodiversity for improved nutrition, health, and well-being.
