Dr. Jingzhen Xie is an assistant professor of history at the University of Macau. She holds a Ph.D. in French from Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests include the history of East–West interaction, Macanese history, the history of Christianity in China, French colonial history, and late imperial China. She has published articles in journals such as Historical Reflections/Réflexions Historiques, MLN, International Bulletin of Mission Research, Information & Culture and is the author of The French in Macao in the Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Centuries: Literary, Cultural, and Historical Perspectives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022). Her recent article Reconsidering Ding Dunling’s Role in Sino-French Cultural Exchange has been indexed in Fuyin baokan ziliao, Zhongguo Jindaishi 複印報刊資料-中國近代史, no. 3 (2023).
