IDN Liveable Cities, Netherlands
Wiwi Tjiook is a landscape architect with a passion for integrated water and landscape planning. She has worked on projects throughout South East Asia, United Kingdom and Australia. Since 1999 she worked for several municipalities in the Netherlands, responsible for all stages of landscape design, e.g. landscape and urban water strategy, urban transformation plans, detailed plans for public space and the implementation of detailed innovative water plans with an emphasis on sustainability. She is the coordinator of the Taskforce Liveable Cities of the Indonesian Diaspora Network, with integrated water and landscape planning as a specialization, focusing on good pilots in selected Indonesian cities. For Semarang, she participated in an international multidisciplinary team as part of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency Water as Leverage for Resilient Cities Asia program. Innovative, bankable and implementable design proposals were delivered to tackle water-related challenges.
As part of her work at the Urban Planning Department, Rotterdam Municipality, she is one of the mentors in the Dutch Training and Exposure Program, a capacity building program in the field of integrated water management for professionals of Jakarta Capital City Government.
For the River Cities Network, on behalf of IDN LC, she is involved in Muntok River, West Bangka.
