Pilar Tunas Nusa Lestari Foundation, Indonesia
Ramalis Sobandi worked as a public official from 1983 to 2012, focusing on housing, settlement, and urban development at the Ministry of Public Works (now PUPR). In 1996, she founded the Tunas Nusa Foundation, initially emphasizing informal education, and reoriented it in 2012 towards research and urban development, renaming it the Pilar Tunas Nusa Lestari Foundation. https://www.tunasnusa.org. Her core activities involve an eight-city research initiative, particularly in Bandung, in collaboration with various institutions. In 2013, she initiated the Kebonbelajar living laboratory in Rancaekek Wetan, followed by the Co-Living for Sustainable Living project in 2017 and the Ruang Riung Ceria inclusive center for stunting prevention in 2021. She has contributed to urban development research and the creative economy, working with the Creative Economy Agency and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Since 2019, she has resumed contributions to housing and metropolitan research for public works. Teaching at universities has complemented her professional work, covering housing, urban development, public financing, and community development. Currently, she facilitates collaboration among various stakeholders in the development process, supported by a pro-bono young professional team.
