Dr. Bista is associate professor of economics, Tribhuvan University (TU) working at the Department since 1999. He teaches Development Economics (1st and 2nd Sem.) and Economics of Nepal and Public Economics (3rd and 4th Sem.) at the Master’s Program of Economics and measurement of human development & sustainable development at MPhil. in Central Department of Rural Development Studies, TU. He did PhD on Economics of Climate Change Vulnerability and Household Adaptation in Sotkhola water basin, Surkhet, Nepal from TU in 2017 and MPhil from Jadavapur University, Calcutta, India in 2010. His area of expertise are macroeconomics and climate change economics. His area of interest is on development issues including climatic disaster, poverty, FDI, and trade. He has four books: Foreign Direct Investment in Nepal (2005), Economics of Nepal (2008, 2011, 2016 & 2021), and Global Role of Nepalese Forest: A case of Reduction of Emission from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018) in Amazon and Economics cost of Armed Conflict: Valuing Armed Conflict in Nepal (2017). Recently, he serves as the editor, Journal of Benu Business Review published by Benu University, Indonesia.
